Frank T. Troise
Founder/Senior Portfolio Manager 

Frank is the Founder of SoHo Asset Management and chairs the firm's investment committee.  He is the Senior Portfolio Manager for the SoHo Global Value Fund and responsible for all equity and fixed income decisions.  He has managed multi-billion dollar portfolios for corporations, endowments, foundations, and high net worth individuals. Mr. Troise began his career in global arbitrage with ABB Financial Services.  His pioneering work in risk management won The Economists' International Risk Manager of the Year Award for his work with Value at Risk (VaR).  He is a regular commentator on CNBC, and his work and research has been published in The Wall Street Journal, Barrons, Pensions & Investments, Investment News, The Economist, and The Sacramento Bee.  He has an MBA from New York University and a B.S. in Managerial Economics from Carnegie Mellon University.

 

Greg D. Van Wyk
Advisor: Alternative Investments 

Greg D. Van Wyk is a Certified Public Accountant and a Registered Fiduciary. He has invested client portfolios for the past decade with two multi-family offices; as a Senior Investment Manager with Manchester Capital Management in Montecito, and most recently as a Founding Partner at Pacific Pointe Advisors LLC in Santa Barbara.

Greg works primarily as an asset allocator and manager of traditional managers with a portion of his time focused on alternative investments including multi-strategy, global macro, tail risk and strategy specific hedge fund managers.

Born and raised in Santa Barbara, Greg has local family roots dating back to the late 1960's. He has taught courses on Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management at the University of California at Santa Barbara and Westmont College. Greg has served on numerous non-profit boards, including Emmaus of Santa Barbara, the St. Francis Foundation, the Dream Foundation Investment Committee and the Music Academy of the West Planned Giving Committee.

 

Jeff Lambert
Chief Operating Officer

Jeffrey S. Lambert has held senior management positions in the hedge fund and financial services industry for over twenty years. Mr. Lambert planned and implemented the entire back office for a startup global macro fund that managed over $1 billion dollars in equity and instituted all accounting, trading, portfolio management, and compliance systems.

He was also responsible for identifying, initiating and maintaining the firm's "hedge fund hotel" which provided a full service turn-key solution to over 15 managers at any given time. This included interfacing with outside attorneys, establishing infrastructure and negotiating all vendor contracts. He also coordinated business entity documentation such as private placement memorandums and Form ADVs as well as overseeing compliance, regulatory audits and communications with these regulatory agencies.

Concurrent with his responsibilities at Strome he served on the Board of Directors of a publicly traded company and assisted in its formation, growth and sale.

Mr. Lambert served as the Chief Financial Officer of Kayne Anderson & Co. Inc from 1987 through 1992. At Kayne Anderson & Co., he supervised corporate and fund accounting, corporate and fund tax planning and compliance, hedge fund formations, hedge fund operations and regulatory financial reporting. He also was the Financial and Operations Principal for Kayne Anderson's affiliated broker dealer managing relationships with key business partners including clearing brokers.

 

Georgia Goodman
Director of Operations & Client Relations

Georgia Goodman has a long background in the financial services industry.  She has been in the financial services industry for more than twenty years and brings a comprehensive understanding of the administrative and operational infrastructure required by the sophisticated fund manager and their clients. For the past twenty years she has been invaluable in creating environments that allow the investment managers to focus on their objectives and freeing them of other concerns.

As Director of Operations and Client Services at Strome Investment Management, L.P. and Strome Securities, L.P., Ms. Goodman was instrumental in assisting in the formation and operational structure of the firms.  Her service to the Strome companies spans more fourteen years (1992-2007) and she is credited with assisting in the global macro hedge fund, achieving over $1 billion in assets.  Her daily responsibilities consisted of: interfacing with fund managers to ensure that private placement memorandums remained compliant with the changing rules and regulations; fielding questions from hedge fund investors regarding subscriptions and other administrative issues; and facilitating the flow of assets in and out of the investors' capital accounts.

Additionally, her duties included timely and efficient settlement of trades in diverse market environments to avoid potential problems. She possesses extensive experience with the settlement of "illiquid securities" and other private placements, thereby, interfacing with attorneys, transfer agents and directly with companies on behalf of the fund managers. Ms. Goodman acts as "point person" administratively and operationally as her experience warrants the ability to maintain expertise in both areas.

Georgia began her career in the financial services industry as a licensed account executive at Drexel Burnham Lambert where she worked as an associate on a trading desk at the firm. At Drexel, she learned the importance of strong infrastructure and excellent operational management as the backdrop to a successful hedge fund business.

 

Michael Waldron
Director of Technology

Michael Waldron has been an information technology consultant for over thirteen years, specializing in the financial sector.  Mr. Waldron has implemented and integrated numerous complex and high-security wide-area data and telecomm networks.  Having serviced a diverse client base, he is keenly aware of a mission-critical application approach to establishing a cost effective computing platform for each AUM size client and integrating a well communicated business continuity plan and regulatory compliance requirements.

Previously, Mr. Waldron has managed and founded three information technology consulting firms on both coasts and worked for large firms such as GE, Inter-tel and Wentworth Labs.  He possesses a diverse skill set, including, but not limited to systems integration and architecture, wide area network management and support, desktop and server support and management, and hands-on day to day IT systems management. 

Michael Waldron is a graduate of Phillips Technical College and is a Microsoft-certified professional.  Information technology has been his passion for fifteen years and he continues to push Panoptic to the forefront of automation and technology, directly benefiting the firm's client base.

Matt Pringle
Chief Trader

Matt has been in the financial services industry for over twenty years.  he is an experienced equity and fixed income trader.  He began his career at Strome Securities in Los Angeles.

 

Alfred Mai
Associate, Client Service

Alfred recently graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara with a degree in Business Economics. Growing up in a family full of self-starters and small business owners, he has a strong sense of entrepreneurship, starting his first online venture while he was still in college. In his free time, Alfred likes to read and keep up with current events, keep physically active, and relax by playing the piano. He plans on pursuing his MBA in the near future.
